ALYSHA RATTANSI
Men’s Assistant Coach
Alysha began her rowing career as a Vanderbilt coxswain. A member of the Class of 2018, she coxed the Varsity Men to success in major regattas and graduated with a B.S. in Human and Organizational Development. Alysha joined the coaching staff in the fall of 2021 as a novice men's coach and has since helped all four squads find success on and off the water.
TYE SHANKLIN
Novice Men's Coach
Tye is an alum of the program, where he had an impressive career spanning four years of top results at major regattas including multiple top-10 finishes at the Head of the Charles, gold at the Head of the Hooch and an ACRA grand final. Shanklin has been coaching at Vanderbilt since 2022 and since then has been a strong influence on the novice men, as exemplified by a SIRA win and second place at ACRA for the MN4+ in 2024.
EMMANUEL PAGAN
Varsity Coach
Coach Pagan began his rowing career at the Indianapolis Rowing Center during his senior year of high school. After graduating, he began as a coach for the IRC novice crews and split his time coaching for the IRC and Butler University Rowing Club for ten years, eventually becoming the head coach for both programs before joining the Vanderbilt Rowing coaching staff. Emmanuel was named ACRA South Region Men's Coach of the Year in 2023.
KAYLEE STEINER

Kaylee began her rowing career at the Rochester Institute of Technology, where she made the switch to rowing from the Tigers' varsity softball team. After graduating from RIT in 2020 with a degree in Biotechnology and Molecular Bioscience, Kaylee came to Vanderbilt to begin her PhD candidacy in Cancer Biology, the first two years of which were spent as an athlete on the team. An experienced sculler, Kaylee was instrumental as an athlete in leading the women's team through COVID singles training and as a coach most recently worked with the men's quad to bring home Vanderbilt's first ever men's ACRA medal in 2024.
VAMSI SUBRAVETI
Assistant Novice Coach
Vamsi joins the coaching staff after his time as an athlete on the team. A former road cyclist at UC Berkeley, Vamsi's endurance sport background led to quick success after he made the switch to rowing, including an equal best Varsity 8+ finish at ACRA in 2024. Vamsi will be working with the novice men's squad this year as he continues working towards a PhD with Vanderbilt's Multiscale Computational Mechanics Laboratory.
